Guadalajara, Jalisco, November 27, 2017.- At least 700 thousand certified natural Christmas trees, from nurseries authorized by the National Forestry Commission (CONAFOR), will be put on sale during the Christmas season, including two thousand for Jalisco
By symbolically starting the sale, it was announced by the Delegation of the CONAFOR that in the entity these plant ornaments will generate an economic flow of at least two million pesos.
The cost per tree ranges from 500 to 1,500 pesos, a cost that can be increased by the height, which are available at Rancho Las Agujas in the municipality of Zapopan and at Rancho El Paraíso in the municipality of Atemajac de Brizuela.
The nurseries authorized by the federal entity to sell their production are located in Talpa, Mascota and the Zapopano municipality, where they produce the varieties Pinabete, Prieto Pine, Stone Pine and Viking Pine.
The state of Jalisco is ranked number 13 in terms of production of this arboreal product, but there is potential to raise planting in temperate forest areas, such as the Western Sierra, the Tapalpa plateau and the Sierra del Tigre
In the country, the supply will be 700 thousand plants in the different entities, whose acquisition benefits the forest production chain and improves the collection of rainwater, as well as the retention of soils, among other benefits, together with the fact that after its use, they can be converted into compost by taking them to collection centers.
